Spanish Bonete for a Franciscan



Spansih bonete, made out of brwon fabric for a Franciscan
with a little stem on the top.

    It is my understanding that Franciscans do not wear birettas. Would this not be true of a bonetes as well?

    1. Your are right. Franciscan neither wear a brown biretta nor a bonete. This one was asked from a Franciscan friar in Great Britain. Maybe he will wear it.

  2. It was made as a gift for a friend of mine.

    He will not wear it, rather it will adorn the hat stand of the Friary.

  3. From what I understand, the Conventual Franciscans (OFM Conv.) can wear a biretta. Of course, it wouldn't be brown. They wear black or grey.
